The unplanned 3 day Expedition from Coron to El Nido 🛥️

First of all I turned up one day early to the island whoops then realised I had a window in my travel plan (usually good but in the Philippines not so ideal) - this was when the no phone was starting to get complicated as well as my budget was only accessible via my phone apps 🙃 basically phoneless and moneyless

ALAS the universe worked its magic and after only 15 minutes of entering the hostel I met @lara_christina and we planned a 3-day boat trip 🧚🏼‍♂️

We ate so much peanut butter, jumped off cliff’s, got badly stung by sea-lice (didn’t even know they were a thing until this year) and told each other our secrets and life story sitting on the boat ✨☺️

Ft the rest of the lil el Nido crew for endless snorkelling and volleyball ❤️☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️ I’ll never forget the nights where we had small islands to ourselves, slept in huts and enjoyed the peace ✌🏼

Beyond grateful for the people in my life and
the most amazing friends home and worldwide who show up for me despite being a gazllion miles away. Grateful for a second family in the Fellowship who make me a better person and have my back.

my bday was a cruise down the Kinabatangan river in Sepilok, Borneo to see crocodiles and elephants. Saw feckkkk all of them: but we did see baby crocodiles and some birds that everyone went crazy for, the Hornbill! They’re very rare to see but I can confirm bird watching is not for me.

This trip involved a flight to the East of the island, Dads teeth falling out at 5am and us sitting with our backpacks on a dentists doorsteps waiting for it to open at 8am, a hotel change coz Dad ain’t accustomed to my budget lifestyle, and a lizard in our pool lmao. Rate it. All part of the fun. Everyone in Borneo is so friendly.

My dad flew out to celebrate my 28th birthday with me 🥳 🎉 seeing family for the first time in 8 months 😱

Despite accidentally making us travel 9 hours by car across Malaysia; we smashed sight seeing, Universal and jungle lyf (more later).

My Dad is my #1 travel supporter so hanging out in Malaysia and SP together was so great.

Note: don’t whimsically ask your hotel in Singapore to do your laundry, fkin £100!! Wtf 😵

When you stop drinking, it’s easy to think that’s the whole story — you remove alcohol, and that’s it. But the truth is, that’s just the beginning 😅.

When you listen, take suggestions, and stay open, your life begins to shift in ways you never expected…

One of the most profound changes for me has been learning to float in the lake of life, instead of being the boulder that tries to force the flow. It’s not always easy — letting go never is — but when you surrender to the flow, it carries you to places more magical than you could ever plan.

If I try to create something on my own, it will only ever be as good as Chloe can make it (not too shabby then tbf 😉). But when I release control or fixation and let the divine take over, what unfolds is infinitely better than anything I could have realised.

If I don’t know everything about today, how the heck am I suppose to know what’s good for me tomorrow?

Trust the process. Release the expectations. Stay open minded. This is your ticket less suffering ✨

Hi honiessss!!

I am adjusting well to phone-less life, it feels very me hehe.
I have a bit of a scary travel upcoming (Manila eek!) but it's all good and I'll be safe - it's not like I have a phone any1 can steal 😋

Blessed by the kindness of fellow travellers helping me out so much, from physically checking me in on ferrys to spending time uploading all the travel pics - ahhh so many kind humans.

I have spent my days retreating into a cabin, then travelling across sea on the expeditions, jumping off cliffs, island hopping, eating great food with beautiful people, mountain bike rides, endless snorkelling, and studying hard for my TEFL and it is all lovely. M

Although it seems that goodbyes are getting harder and harder.

Well, here is to my first post from a laptop since about 2012. Also thankfully I had actually scheduled some posts a few weeks ago so everything's been posting automatically for the past weeks - how good is technology tehehe.

These mountains are magical to me, I felt like I was in Peter Pan… Ofc I was the fairy :) 🧚🏼

The Komodo Boat Tour! 3 days, 2 nights sailing through the archipelago of East Indonesia where we visited remote islands, trekked beautiful mountains, saw breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, met the dragons, and snorkeled… lots!
This trip was up there with my favourites and standing on the top deck looking at all the nearby islands I felt something I had NEVER felt before.
I was in a PEAK ‘holy shit, this is amazing’ moment and pretty speechless (I know…rare moment indeed). I kept wandering off to the top deck to just sit and watch the islands pass by.

What also really made the difference was my crew mates! Guys… if you get the chance to be the baby of the group, take it and just enjoy it 😂.
I really needed this type of presence around me and I felt so cared for by the beautiful women of the group, then could tend to my adventurous side jumping off the top deck and shark searching with the chaps (haha).

LOVE you all, LOVE the islands. A really magical few days.

Once again, another trip that I hadn’t foreseen that moved my life.

Personal note/tip: There’s so many different travel options out there for living on board. From more budget friendly trips, whereby it’s likely more backpackers and a younger group, to less budget friendly - but different standards - you need to ask yourself what you’re comfortable with…. considering you can’t exactly switch accommodation at night!

I’m not ashamed to admit this: I don’t think I’d vibe sleeping on mats with 20 people on a deck for 3 days (budget friendly trips) - it just wasn’t worth the risk of not being able to find a safe, private space, should I feel the environment wasn’t right. Plus morning routine is really important to me and I need time in the morning alone to complete them.
I’d love to hear from you if you’ve been on a more budget friendly trip and what the experience was like? Was it party mode?

Felt this was a very sober-friendly hotspot for sober travellers out there ☀️

Relaxing vibes, white sand and sunsets and LOTS of diving! I strongly recommend diving as a sober activity to explore the oceans, meet new people and throw yourself into the deep end - literally!

Don’t worry about the price of diving either… just think about what you’d have spent on a night out 😜 + Nusa Penida is on the lower scale of diving costs in the world! 🌍

Ps We did witness a pig sacrifice whilst on the island, and I 100% respect culture and traditions. but don’t let it stop you, only love for the locals please ❤️

Water we getting up to?

A few days ago went to visit a Purifying Water Temple approx 1 hour from Ubud. There are different areas, or stages you could say, to the purification. Two of these involve SCREAMING under waterfalls! 😱

1 waterfall you scream out all your trauma from the bottom of your lungs, then the 2nd you scream from your heart everything you now want! WOW - it was soooo powerful and emotional.

This really is something we wouldn’t have pictured ourselves doing 4-5 years ago looking down the bottom of the barrel! Sobriety has taught us a lot but most importantly it taught us that nothing ensures ignorance as much as contempt prior to investigation 😉

When we were almost finished, just as we were in the holy water and receiving our blessing, it began to rain and that was so incredible to just stand half naked and embrace the rain!! ❤️

It’s donation based so accessible to all, and not a drop of alcohol in sight! Definitely put this one on your list ✔️
